Brandon Sullivan

Founder & CEO

Brandon Sullivan is the Founder & CEO of GAINZ Sports Performance. He was a four year starter at San Diego State University. Sully played a crucial role in rebuilding the SDSU football program into a winning program. In 2010, Sully helped lead SDSU to a 9-4 record and first bowl appearance and victory in 13 seasons. Following that season, Sully was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Chargers for the 2011 season.

After a career ending neck injury, Sully sought to start his own training brand teaching young athletes to be more injury preventive through proper form and functional movements with sports performance training.

Sully has been a  CSCS ( Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist ) for several high school programs and is currently running the Sports Performance /  Strength and Condition program for the Point Loma High School Football Program. He started running the  program in the spring of 2022. Due to being one of the most well physically conditioned teams in the county, PLHS Football were the Division 3 CIF San Diego Section Championship Runner-Ups finishing with a 10-3 record. The prior season they were 4-6. After their recent success, the football program has been elevated to the Division 2 level and falling Just short with a 9-7 loss in the Semi final game of the 2023 season.  Sully takes pride in developing athletes mentally, emotionally as well as physically.  His training philosophy is simple:If an athlete isnt progressing, the coach isnt doing his job.

Coach Taylor

Chief Operating Officer

Coach Taylor is the Chief Operating Officer of GAINZ. He is an expert in human performance development, with a focus on biomechanics and exercise physiology. He is a former D1 Football player currently working with NFL, NBA and many professional athletes at some of the world‘s leading training facilities e.g. Mamba Sports Academy. He is a CSCS ( Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist ) and is dedicated to reducing the risk of injury while delivering world class performance training at the highest level. 

Coach Hamilton

Director of Football Operations

Hamilton served as the fourth running back for the New Orleans Saints in 2009, behind Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush, and Mike Bell. He finished the regular season with a total of 125 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. He also scored a touchdown in the Saints first playoff game on their way to winning Super Bowl XLIV. In 2010, he was expected to fill a more important role, but on August 11, 2010, during a preseason joint practice session with the New England Patriots, he suffered a knee injury (later confirmed to be an ACL tear) that was expected to end Hamiltons season. He was waived by the Saints on August 4, 2011 during training camp.

Since then, Hamilton has organized his own youth football  camps and clinics in order to help develop the next generation of talented athletes. 

Coach Rak

Performance & Defensive Line Specialist

Rakim Cox attended San Diego High School where he was Athlete of the Year and selected All-League first-team in 2008. He earned several division 1 football scholarships and ultimately chose the University of Villanova. There he spent his next 5 years protecting his craft. On May 11, 2014, Cox signed with the Minnesota Vikings as undrafted free agent following the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft. He later signed with the
Miami Dolphins 2014 and the 
Carolina Panthers 2015-2016  where he played In Super Bowl 50. 

Since completing his professional football career, coach Cox has transitioned into teaching the next generation of athletes to perfect their craft as he still uses his talents to do football related work in the film industry. Coach Cox is currently the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator acting Assistant Athletic Director  @ Mater Dei Catholic

Coach Nick Ricciardulli

Performance & Ball-Carrier Specialist

Coach Ricciardulli was a three sport star athlete at Poway High School in San Diego. He won section titles in football and baseball. He was an All-CIF and MVP record breaker as a running back. He earned a scholarship to play football at Humboldt State University where he was a 2 time college All-American and conference record breaker. He continued his playing career in Milan Italy and found success as a key contributor of an undefeated Italian Super Bowl team. Coach Ricciardulli earned the honors of league MVP and Italian Super Bowl MVP in his time in Europe. 

He began coaching and  training athletes 10 years ago and has developed a track-record of success. He has coached/trained some of the most notable athletes in San Diego sports and currently specializes in football players in San Diego. 

Coach Ricciardulli has coached as an offensive coordinator at the HS level and is credited with statistical improvement in virtually every category. He has coached silver pigskin finalists and conference MVP caliber players. His approach is mental just as much as physical. He aims to train the athletes’ bodies, minds and spirits.

Coach Horn

Performance & Defensive Back Specialist

Coach Horn, grew up as a three sport athlete (football basketball and track and field) in Fresno California. It was there he earned a scholarship to play football at San Diego State University. He began coaching and  training athletes about 15 years ago and has developed a passion for it. He has trained and currently trains various athletes (football, basketball, track, baseball) elementary level through Professional level, in San Diego, Fresno, Sacramento, Las Vegas and Canada.  Through the process of improving your strength and conditioning along with agility, your confidence and belief in self will dramatically increase. Coach Horn is currently the assistant performance coach for the Point Loma High School Football Strength & Conditioning Program.

Coach Harper

Coach

Coach Harper is a certified trainer through NASM who grew up playing football and running track in San Diego, California. He played football at Ohio Wesleyan University for four years before becoming a coach. Harper believes that speed and athleticism are important for athletes, but that character is what makes an exceptional athlete. He strives to be a role model for his athletes in the Greater San Diego Area.
